Live music and touring have been on lockdown and fans as well as artists are going through withdrawals. We wanted to come up with something fun to help bridge that distance between fans and artists right now. What we came up with is  something called The Lockdown Lowdown and it’s a Q&A session with fun questions for artists to answer. They’re not your typical interview questions, so it gives you a peek inside of the artists themselves. We’re big music nerds here at I’m Music Magazine and we love learning things like this about the artists that we love. We’re pretty sure that you’ll get a kick out of these, so we hope you’ll take the time to read them. In this installment, we sat down for a fun Q&A session with Anastasia Elliot.

How have you been doing during the pandemic and how are you spending your time?

I have been doing really great! I am a natural introvert so quarantine time has not been too bad. I have been spending my time getting ready to launch more music but I can’t share too much on that yet! I have also been taking advantage of the time off to learn some new skills, take classes, spend time in the garden, and do a bunch of trials on online workout platforms! The only thing I miss terribly is performing!!!

Have you  been working on new music?

I have been working on some new music lately! I am starting to conceptualize and write album 2. We also have some fun cover songs that will be releasing soon before the rest of the album.

Life on the road; 5 of your craziest/funniest/scariest tour stories

I have quite a few crazy tour stories. Some I can share and some I can’t! When we were touring in Texas earlier this year, we got to our venue in Austin and there was only one outlet for the entire stage so we couldn’t play our show. We wound up convincing a venue down the road to let us play a late set though! We couldn’t end the tour with a cancelled show! In January, I hosted a workshop at NAMM about the future of indie live performance and our touring rig and 20 min before our workshop we realized we were missing an antenna that was vital for running our live rig. My manager had to sprint through 50,000 people and a few buildings at NAMM to the Shure audio booth and had a guy run the antenna back to us. We got it just in time to do our performance! It was a close call.At one of our shows in NY, we got kicked off stage mid song because we were running a few minutes over. It was awful and I wish we had been able to at least finish the song we were playing!

5 favorite movies
